- The options on this poll are somewhat flawed give the options of both "Yes" and "Yes if fully trained".
We typically don't allow full time officers to negotiate unless they have passed a training course.
For those who voted "No" keep in mind many agencies have reserves who bring some specialized backgrounds (doctors, retired military, professional counselors). Your reserve program may have some hidden talent that could contribute to your team.

- If the reserve officer has the proper training I don't see any reason why he can't offer good support of an HNT unit. In my case, I was a 20+ year member of our HNT unit when I retired. I requested permission to stay on as a HNT member. My training and experiance surpasses the training and experiance of most, if not all of the members in our unit and I can continue to be a vialble asset to the team. My position is an extra, volunteer position and I do not take up a regular deputy's position on the team.
