How do you regard your relationship with SWAT?

We have some excellent SWAT members here in Chicago, in the 28 years of being a negotiator they have pulled me back several times when I became too comfortable on a face to face, and there have been several. I appropriately call the SWAT guys the negotiator's guardian angels, in Chicago they truly watch over us.

At first we did clash, but I suggested that a few of the SWAT guys go through some of the negotiator training that I went through, and I went through their SWAT training. It gave a better understanding to both enviroments and view points

The question doesn't really work for us. Three teams make up our SWAT, Tactical, CNT, and Medics. We get along great, work together well, and have respect for each other. That doesn't mean we don't clash sometimes, because we all want to be the solution to any given problem.

Actually I feel that it is somewhere between OK and Solid. They have their function and we have ours. Most of the time we respect each others views.
